Picked up this vintage item today. Seiko automatic chronograph, aka the “Pogue” model, for Col. William Pogue who wore this model into space in 1973 (without NASA’s permission). This specific watch was built in July of 1971. This one is in very good and original condition, with no signs of repair, alteration or aftermarket parts. Works perfectly and looks vintage cool. This has the sunburst gold dial and original H bracelet.

An excellent condition Pogue can be had for $500 or so. Some of the more rare variations (JDM, very early cases and minor deviations) can be significantly more. But for a really cool vintage automatic, that also has some historical significance, these are really good values. If it were a Swiss watch instead of Japanese, it would be 10x as much.

Thanks, I don’t know if I’m a nut (yet), but I know what I like and this caught my eye. Automatic sports or tool watches tend to do that.

That classifies as a watch nut in my book, I assume you are already familiar with analogshift? It is where I go to drool.

Oh no, I hadn’t seen that before. That is super cool. Looks like it could be damaging to my wallet though...

I owned this exact watch, but with a different colored face. It was good but eventually it stopped.
